Help, l have previously posted about my sick hen, but still don't have an answer. She is a three-year-old golden comet. Her weight has been the same and she's eating and drinking regularly. She also was acting normal, aside from the fact that she seems to almost be contracting whenever she lays down. Or stand still. This is also caused her to Lay down more. I have attached a link that will hopefully work. This is a video of her breathing. I thought she may be egg bound. But I checked and she was clear. She also seems to be laying still. Her only other symptom was a greenish cream colored diarrhea that lasted about 3 days. But that is cleared up and she's completely healthy beside this. I don't know what to do, I'm worried. Please help. Video

Her breathing definitely seems labored. Have you held her and listened to her chest/lung area? Do you hear any rattling or any type of strange breathing? This also may be hard to do, but have you looked down her mouth to see if you see anything stuck? You said she’s eating and drinking and pooping and laying regularly, so this is a hard symptom. Hmmmm…. I’m not sure. Sorry I can’t be of more help, but I’m glad she is still acting normal except for this. I’ll be praying for you, and I’ll tag some people below who’ve helped me a lot in the past.

I was able to watch it, it was just a golden red looking Buff Orpington sitting down having labored breathing, and maybe puffed feathers. If that helps.

Link to other thread about this chicken. https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/sick-hen.1568168/ It's far more helpful if you keep posting to the same thread instead of starting new ones on the same exact subject.

Thanks for reposting the video. I'm sorry, though, it doesn't tell us much.

Breathing fast and hard can be from stress, and stress can be caused by a lot of things. Weather extremes. Trouble laying an egg. Bullying by others. Infection. Clogged nares.

We need to see a photo of her most recent poop.

Is she able to stand without wobbling? Is she able to walk normally? Is there a bad odor to her poop? Is there a steady drip of yellow mucous from her vent?

Have you looked at the skin around the vent for lice?

Have you checked to see if her nares are clogged? Clogged nares can cause labored breathing.
