I won't hurt... Do you have enough to last five days?

Great! I'm printing this out and placing in my animals med binder at home. I have since ordered a postal scale that can weigh up to 86 lbs. I got it from ebay. The little scale that I had before wasn't what I wanted as far as weighing the animals.
I need something like that, but it's also important to have something that weighs the small ones accurately, like a kitchen scale.

He is in my bathroom. Gave him another pill this morning.
I will do another this afternoon. I have a 3 cc syringe and gave him some water.
I will do this every hour and get some rooster booster or bird vitamins.
Is there an electrolyte solution I should get. How often should I give it to him.
What about canned cat food. He feels so thin. I will post pictures this afternoon.

Be very careful when giving water my mouth, it's very easy for them to aspirate, and if they are really sick, the don't seem to swallow as easily. I would recommend tube feeding and I'm available by phone to help you do it. Your other option would be to find a vet and have them show you how to tube feed and/or do subcutaneous fluids (under the skin). Giving 3cc's an hour is not enough if he's not drinking.

This picture shows the trachea. You do_not_want water to go in there!

Pedialyte, which is at most grocery stores, would be better than water for him.Flavored or not, doesn't matter.

How do I know if I am pushing the pill in the back of his throat it is going in the right place.
I have tube fed puppies. I am not sure if I need to do that yet. He was picking at some banana.

It seems like the whole series of photos make it more clear where liquid should and shouldn't go:

Hope he's improving?
I have one problem with the article, the author says "I use 3cc syringes to dose most medications", but the pictures shows a 1cc syringe being used. IMHO, a 3cc syringe is too wide to get safely past the opening to the trachea. Other than that, it's a great article.
