HELP! Silkie with fowl pox - could it actually be favus?

Thanks @Eggcessive ! Have gone to our local agriculture store but they only have large amounts of ivermectin ($200+) and we don’t really want to go to the vet again if we can help it. Our local vet doesn’t know too much about chickens and costs $100+. Have just bought clotrimazole to use on Nugget. Is there any alternative to ivermectin we could use? Thanks again, you are a godsend with advice.

thanks @Wyorp Rock! We have just bought some Vaseline and are currently applying it! I’ll keep you guys updated. Trying my best to get my hands on some ivermectin. It’s tough to get here in Aus without big $ but fingers crossed I can find it at a decent price somewhere. Is there anything else I could use as an alternative to ivermectin? Thanks a million for your advice, it is super duper appreciated!

Have you looked in your feed store for ivermectin paste for horses? The pour on type for cattles is expensive even here. Your local dog or cat vet might be helpful as well since some heartworm tablets are ivermectin. Some people use fipronil (Frontline) the topical medicine for dogs and cats for fleas off label. For a rooster that doesn’t lay eggs, I would probably try that unless I could get one form of ivermectin. In Australia, there have been some attempts to treat Covid 19 with a combo of ivermectin and other drugs, so it must be available.
