Ok so.. I have 2 silkies in my flock, they have been inseparable since I’ve had them, they are about 4/5 months old. My Clyde literally was running into corners and walls/fencing. It was getting to a point where he just didn’t venture out to free range unless we took him out multiple times a day - he WAS the sweetest thing! So we decided to trim him, Very very minimally I might add. He was super chilled and didn’t mind at all!

So we trimmed him, we honestly thought we were helping the poor fellow, but as it turns out he instantly began to attack his Gal, Bonnie. As if he had no idea who she was! We have them separated and he isn’t bothering our other young orpington pullets - So Now Bonnie won’t leave the coop because he keeps attacking her and is visibly not happy with Clyde.

What is going on with Clyde?! Is this a “ he thinks they are new chickens “ thing and once his hair grows back and he gets used to them (and he’s relatively blind again lol ) will things settle down!? 🤭🤭🤭🤭

I thought it was incredibly weird too!.. Would this happen if they were both cockerels? I have a feeling “Bonnie” may not be a pullet :(

So I reintroduced them this morning, there was a few pecks from Bonnie, the darker silkie - but that was it! It’s like Nothing even happened !!? So he either learned his lesson, or I gave the poor fellow a complex! Either way I’m relieved because their fights were worse than my kids fights! Hahah thanks for everyone’s advice and help! Xoxo
