Help! Skinny chicks/adults keep dying

Do any of your friends keep pigeons? they may have some on hand.

Hmmm... I will check around for that and put them on it asap. However, the ones that died all showed no signs of canker. They didnt have any sores, and what gets me is that these birds are not refusing to eat, rather they are eating and getting skinnier. Could this still be canker??

OH!! I have Flagyl in the powder form... could I just use that?

Yes you could, Canker can also be deeper in the throat too and any infection like this will make a bird drop weight.
There could be multiple causes going on too. the gurgeling could be a sign of a resp. infection but I would try the Flagyl first.

Wow, okay I will put them on it. Do you know what the dosage is for powder form? And should I put them on antibiotics as well to stop a secondary infection?

Powder is 4oz per gallon of water. I would hold off on the anti-boitics for a few days to see if they improve.

I would give it for four to five days.

One thing that I would do is to make a wet mash out of their layer pellets. You don't want it runny but just wet enough to help them eat without pain.
I use hot tap water so the pellets soak up fast and then add water as needed to get the right consistancy and serve while still a little warm.
