HELP,..someone stranded another Pekin duck at the college pond

YES,..he keeps going back and forth in from of Gabriel and when anyone gets close to him, Crackers puts his head down to charge but he doesn't nip...when I turn around he stops,..it is so funny,..but I still need advice on the fleas/mites,..will plain vinegar work or do I have to get ACV?
Why does he do this??

Thank you for posting them,..my little step babies was SO cute tonight,..I want to post so bad,...
if you send them i can upload them

Why does he do this??
he is trying to be dominant but knows he will lose against you

I did use it with a flea bath and the I spray him sometimes after he gets out of his swimming pool cuz you can see all of them move up to his neck and back,..
you need to work the premethrin into the feathers on his head/neck with your fingers (wear rubber gloves) but give him a mscalp massage with it and all over his body, work it down the feathers to his skin
his feathers have oil on them so it will keep it from getting to his skin, but it NEEDS to get on his skin to be the most effective

I did the bath with Dawn but he got away from me before I could rinse him off so is that a plus or a minus?,...on him longer,..kills more fleas/mites vs any harm to his feathers or anything???

it wont hurt his feathers but the dawn will cut all the oil, so he wont be water proof anymore, keep an eye on him and make sure he doesnt drown

He hates his pool,..I have to hold him there and try to make it fun but he hates me too now,..I see a few fleas come off when I hold him in his pool but then I see them crawl up his neck,...The dawn didn't seem to do a lot of good,..he is not running away from home,..he keeps going to my neighbors,..even tho I have almost 2 acres,..it is fenced in but if I close my gates I won't get my mail,..I am at my wits end,..can't find anything he likes to eat,..gone threw fruits sand veggies,..etc...he will eat a little seed but pretty much roots around for bugs and worms,..what can I do???

just leave the food, if he is hungry and it is there he isnt going to starve

Poor guy,..he runs from me,..protects my son (??)reasons anyone? and feathers are everywhere and he keeps scratching,..my heart breaks when I see him,..any others suggestions?

If you don't keep your gate closed a predator will eventually pick him off being he is out wandering around on his own.

Did you try using a spray that is safe to get rid of the mites? and he maybe going through molt since your seeing feathers every where.

There is a product called Epernix pour on you'll have to order on line but it is used like a dog flea and tick spot on. And very safe. also a member told me years ago about using front line for dogs you take 1 Xlarge front line and mix with 8 oz of alcohol in a spray bottle you spray outside in plenty of ventilation under each wing back of neck and down around the vent being careful not to spray the vent.

As for feed put it in one place to get him use to where his food and water is. And to keep it dry, He won't starve to death he'll eat eventually. Can you get dried meal worms? oh my gosh my flock love them. you can try putting some on his feed and see if that entices him to eat.

I have used both when we had mites on the chickens both work. I particularly like the Epernix because we could safely eat the eggs after treatment.
