HELP...Spot check thermometer is all over the place!!!

I had it inside the water wiggler and it was working great up until this morning. I changed the batteries and placed it inside and again its giving me crazy readings from 92 to 106 every second. I'm not sure what else I should do. I removed it and turned it off... UGHHH...any advice would be great. TIA

@Rose Quartz you were a lot of help to me last week as I was preparing for this second incubation. I purchased the spot check and it arrived Thursday all was going well until this morning. It came with 4 new batteries and I just changed it and it still giving me crazy readings how do I reset this thing?
