Help ssomething's wrong with my gosling

That's quite a bit of hair and I see some grass so she has munched on something. If she is drinking normally now can you make her feed soupy with warm water adding about a tab of coconut oil to that and seeing is she'll drink her feed. Just a small amount so it's not wasted if she won't. Sometimes they will eat soup before dry feed. You might even take her water away while she is trying the soup. Since there will be warm water in it. She really needs to eat. How does her crop area feel is it empty, soft, hard? other than a vet I am not sure what else you can do but I am going to tag @casportpony and see if she knows what else. I know tube feeding is always an option but if she is blocked up with hair not sure that is the way to go. How old is your gosling?

The grass in the pics is what I put in there and chopped up small, and she pooped on it. Wetting the food is a great idea!! I'm trying that now, thank you! She's 5 ish weeks old

I was told geese don't have crops? I felt that area anyway the day before yesterday and it felt squishy, and my other gosling's crop area didn't feel like anything.

They do not have a "true" crop but their esophagus dilates and store food in a similar way the a crop does and can become blocked or infected.

Yes not really true crops I just give it that name since it's similar.

Did she eat? I showed your posts to a friend and she said a vet would be best.

She just now ate a little of the soupy feed!! Not much, she was sticking her bill in and shaking it around in the mixture, then pulling her bill out and pointing her bill up like geese do when drinking. She only did that maybe 10 times tops but this is the first interest shes shown in food since Tuesday night. I didnt put the coconut oil in it though because i didnt want to risk another fiasco where she got it all over her and I had to bathe her. It was very traumatic for her and she obsessively preened and chirped like crazy for hours after because i couldnt get all of the coconut oil off of her.

I couldnt take her to the vet yesterday because the closest one that would see her is over 2 hours away and my husband has our car at work 12 hours a day, and now i have to wait for Monday for them to be open. I am just trying to keep her going until then. Is there anything else I should do??

@Miss Lydia

Hope today she is even perkier :fl

Today had been great, but now I'm worried again. She has been running to the back door to go outside, and actually going off the porch and playing. Shes been pecking at bugs, dirt, and grass! She seemed pretty much back to normal. Shes had 3 perfect solid poops, but now shes pooping clear liquid again. I really hope this doesnt mean theres still hair in there that wont come out :(
