Help - Stopped getting email subscription notifications - unsubscribing???

I did what others have- unchecked the pause button & logged out and back in and it worked Just got my first notification in a long while! YAY! Thanks BYC!

Those of you starting to see email notifications come in, try your best to report back what you think you did to start getting them OR if you think nothing you did made a difference and the systems finally started working.

Those of you NOT getting emails, please keep us posted with info about when they stopped, if it is all emails, or just come of them, etc.

OK after the website upgrade (which I love by the way) I realized I was subscribed to almost every discussion that I had participated on that was almost 800. I immediately whittled at the list.

When I started having trouble I assumed it was on my end. So I upgraded Firefox to version 10. Then just to be certain I did a full up grade on Mozilla. Then I went to Gmail and Eeeked when I saw almost 25K worth of email messages in my all mail. I still have to figure out how to weed through those. I may go to POP mail rather than IMAP but thats my end. But if my email was full It would have bounced back to you. So I made the assumption all was ok on that end.

Then I went to the BYC site and made sure that suspend mail check box was at the proper setting. Then I went to all my most popular sites and unsubbed and resubbed to each and every one of them. I am suspecting that was well over 200. During that process I weeded out more of my subscriptions. I have weeded down the subcriptions to about three hundred so far. My goal is to get it down to about two hundred and keep it there. It would be really nice though to be able to divide them up by folder as with mail.... but thats something else entirely not part of this issue.

Then I posted on some of my favorite threads and sat and waited like a garden spider for a tid bit to come through.... Kinda sorta worked... Then I looked at the activity and realized They really weren't active.... Superbowl? maybe? Slapping my forehead now..... sheesh.

Then finally I logged out realizing I hadn't logged out of BYC for several weeks. And Forced myself not to log back on for at least a day. Helped that I was away from home.

So in a nutshell:
upgraded Web browser to latest
upgraded Email software to latest
verified Web based email was working properly
Refreshed the subscriptions to many of the threads I follow
Unsubbed from threads that are older
verified settings for BYC were what I wanted
Logged out of BYC for about ten hours

Now I have notifications from the lists I follow.... Yay.....

Wether or not any of this is contributed.... It gave me something to do.... LOL.

I WAS getting emails about new posts to my subscriptions but, it suddenly stopped over a week ago. When I check out my busiest subscriptions I see I am way, way behind in reading the posts. Just don't get notified. And I do still get involuntarily subscribed to threads I just made one casual post on. It is so annoying.When new BYC started up I was getting notices right and left, and then zap - nothing. I didn't do it honest, it's not my fault.

Make it work please

Try logging out of byc and back in..... this has worked for some of us.

It may be just an appartition but, I think I just got a notification of a new post to this thread. I say "think," because is it possible it could have started working by itself? Or maybe it just works for this thread. I have to sleep on this - I'm getting brain clouds. We'll see if it is working in the morning in 5 hours or so, when I am supposed to be waking up. Better head for bed first. Duh!

Yesterday afternoon I unchecked the "pause" button. Logged off & logged back on. I haven't recieved "any" email notifications since then, even for this thread. This was the only thread I was getting notifications on.
