Possible cyst or tumor? Hard feathers protrude - please give me some BC wisdom!

Where is that located on the body?

There are 2 photos - one the skin is smooth with a small lump that looks almost like an oil gland. The other the skin is red, crusty and irritated. Is the same area on the body or 2 separate places?

Have the feathers been trimmed?

The red scabby place looks like it may be a feather cyst, but really hard to tell from the photos.

Thank you - I will try to get a better picture tomorrow. Both pictures are from the same “cyst” that is right near her right leg. The harden feathers are protruding from the cyst. The area is swollen and red.

Hoping for some wisdom! Her foot has not yet healed and it is still in a splint. The feather cyst or tumor also has not gotten worse or better. Please advise me based on any of the pictures above or this video:

Tagging @Eggcessive and @Wyorp Rock.

It's kinda hard to tell from the pictures, but is there an injury there?
Please guide me: the splinted leg is not healing, ❤️‍🩹, and the hen is not able to walk on this leg at all. She also has this feather-cyst or tumor-like growth that I am not sure how to support…Can you advise me please?

A feather cyst is an ingrown feather, meaning that the feather shaft has doubled back on itself, thus failing to push through the outer skin. You can release the trapped feather shaft by taking a sharp tool like an Xacto knife or razor blade and making a small incision in the center of the "pimple".

I'm not able to verify that you are dealing with a feather cyst, though. Your photos are not clear enough.
