I just got a chick today that seems to have been trampled and may be dying. She'll barley open her eyes, she won't eat or drink on her own. She can stand and walk some buts it's wobbly.

What should I do?

Note: putting her down is not an option for me. Any posts suggesting her being put down will be not be appreciated, considered, or tolerated. If all you have to say is putting her down, then please don't reply.

Thank you, and I know this sounds weird, but please include her in your prayers.

Give 2 drops of Poultry NutriDrench orally, and then try to get it drinking water by dipping it’s beak for a second several times and repeat that often. Keep it warm and separate until it is better. Check for pasty butt every day, and keep the vent clean. Wet a little of the chick feed with water and try to get it eating.

Warm Gatorade or pedialyte works. Or in a pinch add a half a tsp of sugar , and a tiny pinch of salt to 16 ounces of water, and mix well. NutriDrench is good to have onhand.

Update: she still won't open her eyes, or eat, or poop. She drinks a little with help. I haven't tried any of the remedies above yet, but I plan to try one tonight. I'll let you know if it works.

Question: the chick is a day old at the most, how much of the Gatorade and/or water-sugar-salt recipe can I give her? Can I give her both in a day?
Thanks

Just get her to drink on her own. The sooner you start dipping her beak in the water or electrolytes the better. Holding a spoon next to her beak would be good. They can choke easily. It has been almost 10 hours since you first posted.

Ok thanks. I'll try it. But why did you mention the number of hours it's been?
