I have a batch of 5 week old chicks and since it was nice I took them outside for a few minutes of fresh air and so they could play. As I was rounding them up to come back inside, I didn't see one and tripped over her. I don't know how badly I came down on her, but there don't seem to be any outward signs of injury. She is just lying down in the box I put her in. She will stand, but not walk. After I tripped over her, she was running from me, but running awkwardly. I'm not sure if it was due to the unfamiliar feel of the ground, or the ground being uneven... I don't know. I am so sad and upset with myself, and I am hoping she is just sore or something. Any ideas?? Thank you!

They are tougher than you think. You may not be able to tell until morning though if something is wrong. Is she with her siblings or by her self? Just keep any eye on her and dont beat yourself up.

Thanks for responding. I let her rest for a while in her own pen, but just put her back with her sisters. She went right over and got some food, so that was good. Everyone's resting so far, I didnt want her to get chilled overnight. I think she's gonna be fine :)
