Help trying to convince hens to go broody

The breeds that you have are not likely to go broody, they were bred for production. Therefore their broodiness trait has been bred out of them. Maybe one of your silkies will eventually go broody once they begin to lay.
I have a little hope because I've had most of my chickens and turkey go broody before my main hens that go broody are my Black copper marans we have had 3 of them go broody out of 8

Keep your eggs collected daily... as long as the birds don't think the nest is being raided they will STILL go broody... when they are ready. My Marans were also good broody's, better than my Silkie's.

You just need to be patient... keep nutrition up, over crowding and predator visits down. The ones that have been broody before WILL again in my experience! :)
