I'm new to both Backyard Chickens, and actual backyard chickens.

I ordered 7 chicks (3 Black Jersey Giant females, 3 Light Brahma females and one Light Brahma male). I recieved 8 (one extra Jersey, unsexed), and they were all healthy and happy when I got them they were 48 hours old on arrival, and vaccinated for Mareks Disease.

Yesterday, the smallest chick (one of the Jerseys) started acting lethargic, and stumbling around. It sleeps most of the day, stands on its hocks, and can't walk without falling over. I've brought it to food and water. It'll drink and eat, albeit weakly. I'm using a 150w red heat lamp, straw bedding, plain water, and 20% chick starter. I've offered crumbled boiled egg yolk, which it ate a lot of. It drinks when I dunk its beak, but not on its own. I dont think it can make it to the feeder or fount. Today, one of the Brahmas started sitting on its hocks and getting wobbly, just like the Jersey, but not nearly as bad.

Any guidance? I'm worried I'm doimg something wrong!

Delayed shipping stress, probably. It's common. Give each of the wobblies warm sugar water. And, if you can find it, usually feed stores have it, get some Poultry Nutri-drench. Add a quarter teaspoon of it to a quart bottle of water and give that to all the chicks for a few days. It will boost them all through these first precarious days.

Thanks. I talked to the guy unloading chicks at Tractor Supply. He said it sounded like coccidiosis. I ended up leaving with a bottle of Corid, a little tub of chicken probiotics and a liquid vitamin supplement. My plan was to offer the vitamin supplement for a few days and see what that does for them. No blood in the stools, but the little babies have foamy poop. I gave them some crumbled bouled egg yolk just a bit ago. They really charged it all up!

The real little one is worse than yesterday, and I have her separated from everyone else. I found her this morning pretty alert, but on her side. She can't sit up on her feet or hocks at all, she just tips over. Shes breathing heavily, and is now mostly sleeping. Ive been taking her to drink every 30 min or so, and she's pooped once (oddly enough, it was a normal looking poop). But I dont think she'll make it.

Today, a third chick, another smaller brahma, started looking a bit wobbly. I'm pretty worried :(

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated!
