The running, flapping, and going limp thing is really common for dying chickens. I've had a few chicks die from failure to thrive (I assume) and before they all died they were running around seeming fine, started flapping like mad, then died very quickly. I would guess she died from being eggbound, it was early in her laying career correct? Or it could be anything, they do die for seemingly no reason sometimes.

I'm sorry you lost your chicken, she was beautiful and did look very healthy ( someone else mentioned her shiny feathers) maybe you can replace her if you want, try not to dwell on her death.

I'm a little late to this party. I'm afraid after reading the first post there was no helping this chicken. Sorry for your loss OP.

Tell us a little more about her feet and legs. Is her head twisting toward her tail at all?

I did. Sometimes perfectly healthy animals can just die. I have had chicks that are healthy, happy, running around, and then they all of the sudden sit down, and in a couple minutes they are dead. Sometimes, once a sickness has come, it is already too late.
