Help w/ my Chicken Checklist?

Thank you so much! I love the cornstarch tip.

Yes! Thank you! This is perfect! Good call on the heat lamp for the infirmary.

That is awesome and something we are trying to do as well! I wanted to put stuff in beds around the run to cover the hardware cloth skirt but I really dig the idea of being able to rotate stuff in and out. I’ll hit you up for that site for sure!

Thank you all so much for taking the time to answer. I appreciate the help! :)

I have a few follow up questions like: Where do you prefer to get your chicken supplies? Do you shop online or do you mostly go to local feed stores? Are there items you go to the dollar store for to save money?
Rubber bowls (TSC) are the best for both food and water. In the winter, they are guaranteed not to crack, and you can simply flip them over and stomp the ice out.
You can also find instructions on how to make feeders and waterers. I have a 55 gallon tote feeder. It makes my life so much easier!!
I have never gotten into nipple waterers, but they certainly have their benefits!

Did you know that you can use PVC pipe that leads into the coop, and flows into an elbow for a feeder ?
I saw ones being sold that you could hook up and fill from the outside. That seems convenient! I friend was schooling me, and I have been reading a lot on here & Pinterest, about making feeders from PVC. We are not great builders of things but I think we can manage those! With the nipples for water, do you find the ACV corrodes the metal?

Oh! I honestly can’t remember what they are called, but there is a waterer being sold all over the place. It looks like a milk jug upside down. I think it’s 2 gallons. It has a ring that you can lift up to remove the bedding the chickens have scratched in there.
I have one. I sadly don’t really like it. There is nothing to keep the jug in the base. The chickens knock it right out. However, that isn’t my point. :D
I saved getting mine from Chewy.com they surprisingly have a ton of stuff for your chickens. They don’t know much about chicken nutrition, so please be careful with what they call food. Your first order is 20% off. If you buy everything you want at once, we will save a lot of money!!! They are cheapest for a lot of animal needs (totally shocked me). Check them out!
 And now I’ll be silent. :duc

We bought 2 inexpensive 5 gallon buckets with easy off lids and put 5 watering nipples on each near the base. We have one set on a low stool in the coop and one set on a 2x4 platform out in the run. Both are working great. One of our hens likes to sit on the outside one but it doesn't knock over and with the lid it doesn't get fouled if she poops on it.
