Hi everyone - my girl Pie (8 months old) just started holding her mouth open, sounds like she's struggling to breathe, not eating or drinking, and making goose noises. She's shaking her head seeming like she's trying to dislodge something. Her crop is empty and there's no smell so do not suspect sour crop. She seems lethargic when outside but was still hanging with the other girls. I brought her inside and she's seemed to perk up but could just be because she's freaked out to be separated from the flock. I suspect this could be gape worm? I have safeguard arriving in a few hours and have given her nutridrench and ACV (both diluted) via syringe to the mouth. Does anyone have any ideas about what this could be? Does gape worm seem like a good place to start? Could it be a upper respiratory infection? I have antibiotics but don't want to use them if not needed. Linking a video via my reddit post

Have you pried open her beak and looked for a foreign body in the back of her throat or something wrapped around her tongue? Use a strong light and get someone to hold her steady while you look.

Post the video to You Tube, copy the URL and paste it here, then we can view it.

It sounds like she has stridor, a sound made when there is something (small grain of feed, mucus plug, or swollen tissue) stuck in the airway, but she only did it once in the video. Do you see anything inside the airway, such as yellow gunk or cankers? Does she have any bubbles in either eye or is she swallowing mucus after shaking her head? Has anyone been sick lately? If she is upset, I would place her back in the coop. What antibiotic do you have? I would work on getting her drinking, and put some water in a little feed. If she likes cooked egg, that is good, and sprinkle water on it too.
