HELP! Welshie pooping yolk and crushed shells

There is a link somewhere on here I'll see if i can find it.

THANK YOU!!!

2 eggs in the coop again today after she laid the crushed eggs?Well you choice you can just let it go and hope for the best or start her on an antibiotic just in case, main thing is if she has anything left inside this is what can cause infection. Doesn't sound like all the shell passed

All flock is fine to use as long as they have oyster shell or some other source of calcium which helps to harden the shell before they lay it.

I am going to start antibiotics. It can only help.

I think the egg may have been laid before I noticed the crushed shell in her poop. My husband lets the ducks out in the morning, so I am unsure when they lay. Sometimes its overnight and sometimes they go inside the coop in the afternoon.

I would let her float in lukewarm water for an hour, and consider using an ear suringe to rinse her vent very gently. I would not insert the syringe or squeeze hard, just rinse with lukewarm water-see if there is any sign of blood. Antibiotic is probably a good idea, as well as calcium supplementation.

Thanks. I will do this as well.

Did that link I gave you on meds not give the direction on dosage?

We need to get in touch with @casportpony

Yes it did!! Thank you for pointing that out. I saw the photo but no typing to go with it. I didn't realize the dosage was on the photo.

Should I separate her from the others or dump out their pool so that this is their only source of water?

Sorry for the delayed reply.... I need all the info on the package, or just a picture of it. Also need you to open it and measure out the amount of tablespoons in the package.

Don't want to confuse anyone, but oxytetracyline powder comes in a few differerent concentrations. Once I have all the info I will calculate the dose for you.
