I'm pretty sure we have a Seabright Bantum (it was supposed to be a Silver Laced Wyandotte, but it's small and has grey legs).

Anyway, my chickens are 4.5 months old, so I wasn't really expecting any eggs yet. My husband was fixing the coop and dropped a screw. Instead he found an EGG!

I crawled under the raised coop to fetch the egg and found a nest of 3 more!

They are small, long, and GREEN. We have 2 EEs, but I can't imagine their eggs would be this small.

Could my seabright be laying GREEN eggs???

Oh, and can we eat these eggs or have they been outside too long?? They have not been in direct sun, since she nested under the raised part of the coop.

Here are some pictures.

Look like pullet sized eggs from an EE. Her eggs will get larger with time.

If there is a question about the freshness then simply put them in water. A fresh egg will sit on the bottom sort of flat. The older it is the more it will stand up. If it floats you got a rotten one.

If there is still a question then you can crack each individually in a small bowl before cooking.

I have had baby eggs even smaller and sometimes they are irregularly shaped. Just give it a little time and all the kinks will work themselves out. Don't be alarmed if you get one with no shell. Pretty eggs.

Thanks!

I'll stick them in some water and see what happens.

I'm thinking I might have 3 from one EE mama, and 1 from the other EE girl. 3 were nested together, and the 4th one was by itself, over on the other side of the raised coop area. The 4th one is also a little lighter than the other 3....
