Help what breed am i???

Problem is a Wheaten Marans will lay a brown egg but so will a Red Sex Link so I'm not sure egg color will help differentiate breed in this case.

A Marans will lay DARK brown! Far darker than any Sex-Link.

Well, for the OP's sake I hope it's a Wheaten Marans but it is so off color it's probably a mix. I did notice just now it does have the white ear flaps on it's head so 2 whammies as to it maybe being a Sex Link when you include leg color into the picture. Thing is it's still so way off SOP becuase it lacks white feathers in the right places and has such dark legs it's still prob not a pure Wheaten Marans. As far as egg color goes, I have never had a Marans anything ..so I had no way to know what shade brown they laid..lol. Ty for the clarification on that.

Looks identical to my red productions but not sayin she is one but very nice bird

From Feathersite:

Wheaten Penedesenca

Wheaten Old English Game (LF)

Wheaten Old English Game Bantam

Good source! I was thinking about Wheaten OEGB, but the body type didn't quite look like it. Still, it's a "little" chicken, so very possible - good idea to post the pictures.

If it is a Marans, egg colour will erase all doubt...

From Judy Linn @ Feathersite.com, a circle of Marans eggs with 2 regular brown (like a Sex-Link) and a white egg in the centre:

Another from Feathersite, Susan Shaw-Cooper:

If it is a Penedesenca or Marans then you will easily be able to identify by the egg.

if it is a cross then a 'normal' brown would be my guess.

if it's an OEG then a cream egg.

Looks like we will have to wait for her to lay then. Keep us updated!!!

She is likely a mix...could have game in her...likely OEGB, wheaten of course.
