He is such a handsome rooster. I love his color almost chocolate. He is gorgeous!. HIs feet look normal size to me but he should grow into them since he is still young.

And your welcome! Im glad I could help.

Yah he has beautiful color. We just noticed him start to crow and thought it was strange. As he matures I hope he doesn't get more aggressive.O well the adventure continues. We built this coop do you think it will have ample space.

What are the dimensions?

The standard requirement is 4 sqft of floor space per chicken. Though some people provide a little less. If you have the rooster plus 4 hens you should need roughly 20sqft so a coop roughly 5'x4' or even 4'x4' would work.

Oh and if there isn't already, don't forget to add ventilation to the highest point of the coop. That will help release the ammonia fumes. Ventilation is a must.

Does it have a window?

Kind of a bad picture so we bought nest boxes on the inside I'd say its roughly 4x4 maybe more maybe less maybe more the top has an opening to get the eggs out hopefully that will suffice for the ammonia. Is a window necessary; I could cut one.

Ventilation is absolutely necessary. Windows are helpful because it allows air flow which helps ventilation and also is helpful in the hot summer months. Also in my opinion it will help with egg production since sunlight has a lot to due with egg production. I have windows in all of my coops(I have 7) also windows in my goat house. I feel windows are necessary.

Is the nestbox opening just an opening with no cover or is there a lid?

Well they can go where ever they want in the backyard the plan was for them to only nest in it the boxes have tops on them but I plan on cutting the tops off them so I could reach the eggs. The windows do sound like a good idea for summer.
