Help - what is this?

Ok, definitely mushy-chick-disease, which brings me to more questions for those of you with more experience! As I understand it I can wait and see how she does or I can decide that she is suffering to much and handle it. I'm a dog rescuer who struggles to kill most anything except flys & roaches so how do or would I know she's suffered enough?

The "ball" in/on her belly is bigger, she's still chirpping non-stop and she's also still eating, drinking and pooping normally. Currently she is separated from the other 2 chicks and all 3 are screaming their beaks off. I called TSC and they said there have been no other issues with chicks but I can come down today and they'll give me two more out of the same bunch of chicks and no they do not want her back. If she pulls thru this she has a lifelong home so that's not an issue.

I'm posting a couple of pics from half an hour ago so you all can see what I see.

I really hope it is not mushy chick, but if it is, it is fatal. I would keep offering water and food, maybe some NutriDrench, and keeping her stump clean. Let us know how she gets along, or if you have to cull her.

How many times a day should I clean her stub? Twice so far today and she didn't like that a bit. Her belly is already growing in size and looking a madder red. Thought I saw the beginning of labored breathing but I'm pretty sure I'm watching pretty steady looking for anything and everything. She is still eating and drinking - I have to run an errand and then I'll go watch for poop and or other signs from her. I don't want her to suffer. I named her Hope today.

Little Miss Hope has made it to day 10! I'm excited but know she's not out of the woods yet. The scab from her cord fell off durning the night last night. Her legs still appear to be a bit wider apart than the other chicks and she isn't growing nearly as fast as the others, but is growing. Yesterday I watched her run around trying to play. I'm hopeful she's gonna stick around for awhile! Thank you for all your help very much appreciated. Pic is yesterday afternoon."Luvs, post: 20440492, member: 495211"]Thank you! She's a little more alert and doesn't look any worse at this checkup. So now I should put Neosporin on her twice a day? Going to do now, maybe she'll get a little relief![/QUOTE]
