Help! What is wrong with my duckling's feet?

I really think it's burns from the poop keep clean like your doing and soak their lil feet in warm ES water and put the antibiotic salve on. Poor babies. You never said what they were kept in where you got them.
They were kept in a closet like space with no fresh air and the floor was once wood but was about 2 inches thick with hardened poop.
The stink was horrible. I feel so bad for all those poor babies still there.

They had no water or any grass. Only that darn poop hardened floor.

Very sad. But hopefully not so bad that treatment won't help. Ducklings need water! Why is that so hard for some people to understand? I'm so glad you rescued 2 of them! They are lucky.

How many were there? maybe you can get them and find homes for them. Oh this makes me sick and angry some people don't deserve to have animals.

I would treat their feet as if they had burns. Now not sure if I'd soak in ES maybe just keep the antibiotic salve on and get some Veterycin spray for wounds and infections and spray their feet a couple times a day then use the neo at night. any one with medical knowledge about burns?

@casportpony may know.

THANK YOU THANK YOU ... I am so worried about them but can breathe easier now knowing what to do.
I have never in my entire life ever seen this on ducks or ducklings.

I feel so horrible just thinking of the pain these poor babies must be in.
The cool grass must really feel great to them now that they are at my home and spent the day in the grass.

They have been bathed in warm water and wrapped in a hot towel
and I just put them in a container on top of a clean dry towel and made a small
cave for them with the edges.

I will continue to soak their feet 3 or 4 times a day and put the antibiotic ointment on
their little feets.

Can't stand it when little creatures suffer from human neglect!

I have a mind to report that person and the conditions he keeps these poor babies in.
He is a vet too and that makes me even more angry.

I agree they may be something like chemical burns from ammonia that forms in old manure.

And Epsom salt and ointment is a good approach to keeping bumblefoot away.

Towel bedding sounds best, too.

I would have to pay him like 500$ to get all those babies out of there and I sadly cannot.

But since I am a foster home for ducks, geese and other small animals, I think I will report this
and the SPCA in our area will call me to take care of them. Then I can treat all their poor little
feet! These were the 2 smallest ducklings, some were as much as 3 weeks old.

What a horrible way to treat these poor babies!
I had no idea it was this bad, but since seeing these sores on their feet, I imagine some of those
ducklings must be in alot of pain.

oh no.. please do not worry about that. I am just glad to know what it is and now I am really feeling so horrible for
all the other ducklings on that farm.

Thank you so much for all your help. You are wonderful! So happy I am part of this great big, ducky loving family!

I only rescued 2 of them.

Now I really am racking my brain on how to get
those poor darlings out of there....

He must not know it is me because that will cause all kinds of trouble so
I am on phone now with a friend at the shelter and she will know exactly what
to do.

Thank you everyone for helping me out. Now that I know what it is , I am doing something about
all those poor babies.

Fingers crossed!

There was about 100 ducklings in there yesterday.
