Hi everyone my silkie rooster has had these weird white dry scab-like things on his comb for the past year and a half, but I noticed it looked especially bad today. I do not think it is dry pox because I would imagine the other members of the flock would have them too. He acts normal and none of the other hens have the things on their combs. The image of him standing in the grass is how he normally looks. Anybody know a treatment or what they are?

Has the comb been bleeding? I see what looks like red on the feathers around his face, it that blood?

It's hard to know what's going on with his comb. I would start with a tripled antibiotic ointment to see if that helps. See if the ointment softens up the comb a bit - those "bumps" that are sticking up - do they feel loose at all like they may come out?
I could be off base here, but I wonder if he had debris in the nooks/crannies of his comb and it festered.

Let us know if oil or ointment make a difference in a few days, some photos after any type of treatment would be good too.
