Help! What went wrong?

I just finished my first hatch and it was pretty unsuccessful. I set 12 eggs and only 2 hatched. In an attempt to learn what went wrong I opened the 10 unhatched eggs. They were all mostly yolk but there was a small dark spot in all of them. I am assuming this means that they were all fertilized and that I messed up early on. I have attached some pictures. Please give me your advice and opinions on what went wrong and what I should do differently the next go around. Also, please confirm for me that they were fertilized eggs. Thank you all for your help.

They were definitely all fertile. What incubator are you using? Do you have any extra calibrated thermometers?

Yes they are for sure fertile. I had one that looked similar in my last hatch. Something along the way may have caused the temperature and/or humidity to change enough to affect the eggs. I put a small thermometer/hygrometer in the incubator to monitor it, I wouldn't trust just the readings from the incubator itself. Things like opening the incubator for too long or adding cold water can have a bigger effect than I thought as well. Another possibility is bacteria on the eggs before they went in the incubator or bacteria in the incubator from a previous hatch.

I’m using the nurture right 360 and I don’t have any extra calibrated thermometers. I live at 9,100’ in the Colorado mountains and it is very dry so I tried a dry incubation thinking that since it is already dry it may be my best bet. Now I’m thinking I was wrong and I should keep it at the recommended humors level.
