This is Dixie my sweet little Dixie Rainbow. She is about 2 weeks old. She is always the first to come running to my hand when i put it in the brooder. And a real pig when it comes to treats. Well as for my question what is wrong with her?....She has a large lump on her chest under her neck on her right side, it seems soft is i somewhat massage it and it doesn't seem to affect her but i would really like to know what it could be and how to fix it. So if ANYONE has a suggestion let me know please!!! I couldn't bare to lose her.

ACV is Apple Cider Vinegar. Many people prefer to use just the olive oil - about 2cc 3 or 4 times a day. Massage the crop after giving the oil each time, and make sure she only eats soft food (make some mash by moistening some chick starter).

EDIT: and if she isn't pooping, you may want to NOT give her anymore food for a day. That would indicate her crop isn't passing anything through at all.

In addition to the ACV, olive oil, and massaging, I would also gave her yogurt (unsweetened, unflavored) and chopped up hard boiled egg just for some extra good bacteria to help digestion.

NO! Dont give her anything. Give time for her crop to go down overnight. It should be empty in the morning. Dont let her gorge on feed, perhaps ration it to her.

I don't have any ACV but i tried to get some olive oil in her not extremely successfully but i got a drop or two in her and massaged the knot. She is pooping so that is good. I have taken the food and left only water. Is there any reason this has happened that i may possibly prevent it from happening again?

That's a tough question to answer, since some birds can be prone to crop issues. The wrong food can cause problems especially in young chicks. Has she been eating bread or anything long and stringy like grass?

No grass but I have given worms and raisins. All of my other chicks are fine. Dixie is always a hog when it comes to treats and will be the first to snatch and run then steal from the others also. As for food they are on medicated chick feed.
