Hi Everyone!
Im a bit of an inexperienced chicken mama and backyard chickens has never failed to help me out. Yesterday afternoon when feeding my chickens I noticed one of my girls was wheezing. It almost sounds like shes making soft cooing sounds but when I held her I can feel the delay of air in and air out (every breath she makes small sounds).
I immediately quarantined her and stuck a probiotic mixture in her water to try and give her a boost. I also have tried feeding her bread soaked in olive oil (to see if she just had something stuck in her throat) but this didn't work. When I checked on her in the evening she was breathing normal, but this afternoon she is back to wheezing. Other than that she is a normal, active, happy chicken.
Im hoping someone can point me in the right direction, I just don't know where to start. Thank you for any help!
