Hi Everyone!

Im a bit of an inexperienced chicken mama and backyard chickens has never failed to help me out. Yesterday afternoon when feeding my chickens I noticed one of my girls was wheezing. It almost sounds like shes making soft cooing sounds but when I held her I can feel the delay of air in and air out (every breath she makes small sounds).
I immediately quarantined her and stuck a probiotic mixture in her water to try and give her a boost. I also have tried feeding her bread soaked in olive oil (to see if she just had something stuck in her throat) but this didn't work. When I checked on her in the evening she was breathing normal, but this afternoon she is back to wheezing. Other than that she is a normal, active, happy chicken.
Im hoping someone can point me in the right direction, I just don't know where to start. Thank you for any help!

I sometimes see that when they develop a slight respiratory problem, and also occasionally someone has something stuck in their windpipe. It generally resolves itself in a few days. If it worsens or you see discharge than you may need to treat it.

Separating her may cause MORE stress which could make things worse.
IF she has an infection your other chickens have already been exposed.

Thank you both for you replies! Im putting her back with the other et chickens for now but keeping a close eye on her to make sure nothing gets worse

Years ago I had 2 pullets that someone gave me and one had a cough. I happened to have oxine already, so I put about a tsp of oxine in the full tank of a vaporizor and and them breathing that for one night. It stopped the cough. this is one of the many things oxine is used for.
