Hello! Its a real emergency as my White Leghorn Standard Female hens are going to fair in about 1 and .5 weeks I am hoping they will heal soon. They have bumblefoot I just noticed one is pretty big and the other one has bumble toe. I am concerned with them and I hope they will heal before fair. Later I am going to try the Epsom salt thing and pull the plugs out. Any ideas? Thank You

Maybe someone else has better ideas on treatment, but in my experience bumblefoot doesn't seem to heal very fast, even if you do a good job cleaning out the wound and doing daily soaks and bandage changes.

Pictures would help, but if the bumblefoot infection is large it's very unlikely that it will heal in .5 or 1 week. It does need to be dealt with, it will just get worse if left alone. It's very hard to say precisely how long it will take, each case is a bit different. In general the larger it is the longer it will take.

Thank You. We did the other Leghorns today and wrapped them up, a little blood and puss but the one that was very bad does have some inflammation but they are already healing quite well actually. The leghorn with the bumble toe actually had some of the kernels like infection come out and they seem much happier with the infection out of their foot. I will try to get some pictures later when I re-wrap all of them again to see how they are. Thanks again. Keep you posted
