help, why is my baby chick doing this? UPDATE: doing great (pic pg5)

Did you check to see if it's crop is hard? If it has eaten some bedding, it could have an impacted crop.

Good question-I think they can still chirp with an impacted crop.

Listen to it's lungs for any crackling... but it looks to me like something might be stuck in it's throat. Poor Baby......

seems to be getting better.

i saw it eat ans drink and the gasping as slowed to the point of not being notable.

I bet it had something stuck and finally got it worked down, just keep the little guy warm and give food and water and hopefully it will be okay I am sure that was a very scary thing to go through hope everything works out for you and the little chick.

Something stuck int hroats seems. I had this happen yesterday, just put water down throat.
