So I went to check on one of my broodys and at first I noticed this egg appeared to be cracked. I thought she killed it by sitting on it so I took it from her and put it on the ground. A few minutes later I went to look at it because clearly something was in it. I nudged it gently and noticed it was still moving and breathing. I placed it back under the broody. I’ve been checking on it about every hour. I do not see any pipping through the membrane though. Today is around the 21 day marker(give or take a day or two). When I checked on it just now it appears to still be alive but it’s not moving much. Has anyone seen anything like this before?? Help this is our first one that has made it this far.

Update: I see very slight breathing and hear no chirping. This chick is under a momma and not incubated. I did I’d run coconut oil on the clear part of the membrane. Should I continue to let the momma lay on it or will that kill it?

Aww, so sorry! Did you open the membrane slightly ? These things sadly happen , does she have other eggs still to hatch ?
