Help with 1 week olds quick!!!!!

have 11 week old quails who are all slowly starting to act strange....
There eating & drinking fine but after they do so they sit there opening and closing their mouth, panting..... eyes shut., body shaking
They are still reasonably strong, some worse than others..... i'm holding the smallest wrapped up in a rag currently...
what is the go.... don't want them to all die,i have had 2 do so already but they weren't eating.

Im only new to quail myself, and your title says 1 week but your post says 11 weeks, if they are 1 week old, maybe they are too hot in your brooder!

Sorry...it was a stupid way to put it. Yes 11 quail chicks 1 week old.
I have had overheated chook chicks before and they didn't really act like this. How warm should the brooder be? mine is about 34 degrees Celsius.
The thing is the majority of them only act strange after eating/drinking. Sort of worried.

Are you grinding their feed? And what are you feeding them? I don't think 34 C is too much, but people say you can tell by watching the chicks - if they clump together right under the lamp, they are too cold, if they stay as far away from it as possible, they are too warm.

At 1 week old brooder should be at 95 degrees Farenheit.(sorry I don't know the conversion).Each week after drop 5 degrees.The crumble feed should have enough dust to feed them until they can eat the crumble itself.
Is the heat source to close to them?Is there airflow in your brooder?They may also have a deficiency.I had this problem with bobwhites and I had to add sulmet to their water supply once a week.

I'm crushing their food, and they seem to have good appetites, they are on medicated chick starter (pet shop recommended it) as well as boiled egg yolk. 95 Fahrenheit is about 35 Celsius. When they act weird (shaking, eyes shut, etc) they stand on their own. Thanks for the help

Quail need high protein feed 24% or more. I use 30% purina gamebird starter check your protein content in your feed.

Add some diatomaceous earth to the water. It really helps!!
