This egg snuck under a broody a day or two late in the process. She won't hatch it, and our current broody won't take it. We are trying to keep it warm. Any suggestions?

We decided to make it a nest in a glass bowl so we could put it in our fondue pot. Then we wrapped the heating pad around it to keep the water temperature up. The egg seems to be in the high 80s now (checking with a laser thermometer). The chick is breathing and seems okay. It peeps when I brush the exposed membrane with a little water, but is mostly quiet. The exposed hole is a little larger than a quarter.

Sounds good to me. Keep up the good work!

Yay! Wait until the chick has gotten fluffy before you introduce him to a mom. When you put him under her (best to do at night) watch for a few minutes to make sure she doesn't try to hurt him. Keep a close eye for a little until you've seen the hen is trustworthy. Hoping everything works out!

Our Golden Campine successfully adopted him. He's working really hard to keep up with his older siblings.
