Hello,

New to forum & owning chickens. Got this group from a school incubation project. Have some good guesses on breeds & gender but would appreciate some confirmation from those with more experience than me. They are between 9-12 weeks old. There are 2 pics per chick with name above each set. Thank you for any help!

Nana is an Easter egger pullet.

Nugget and Sunny are light Brahma cockerels.

Rusty is another Easter egger. Cockerel, in my opinion, but not absolutely certain on this one.

Midnight might be a Marans but more likely a Marans layer hybrid. Pullet.

Oreo is a silver laced Wyandotte cockerel.

Mia is a silver laced Wyandotte pullet.

Yay - you've got one of the weirdo Easter Eggers like I have - Nana is an EE pullet. (Though I am increasingly thinking that they're olive eggers, since they seem to be Welsummer (brown eggs) mixed with Ameraucana (blue eggs).)

Nugget and Sonny are both Light Brahmas. Both look male to me, especially Sonny.

Rusty looks to be another EE, and is probably male. A closer photo from the side would be useful.

I don't know about enough about anybody else to give you more info.

But I'm excited to see another one of these EEs bopping about, and welcome to chicken owning and BYC!

Nana - EE pullet
Nugget - Light Brahma cockerel
Sonny - Light Brahma cockerel
Rusty - EE cockerel
Midnight - Marans (probably a Midnight Majesty Marans) pullet
Oreo - Silver Laced Wyandotte cockerel
Mia - Silver Laced Wyandotte pullet

Thank you all for the replies. I was holding out hope that Nugget & Rusty could be hens. Will wait a little bit but we'll have to make some changes. I know we cant keep this many roosters with so few hens. Anybody ballpark when mating would begin, when i should make some decisons before? Thanks again.
