Hi, meet Velvet and Oreo. I was wondering if anyone experienced with chickens can help me identify them.

We hatched Oreo and Velvet from fertilized eggs that we got from a farm located in Innisfil, Ontario, Canada. That farm has hundreds of chickens that lay all sorts of eggs (White, Brown, Tan, Green, Blue, etc.) not knowing which egg is from what breed, the farm also doesn’t know what Oreo is. I'm guessing these chickens would be cold hardy because the farm is from Canada. I have included pictures of some of the chickens at the farm if that helps identifying the breed. I can’t recall what colour egg Oreo hatched from but I know it was either Brown, Blue, or Green. Velvet hatched from a brown egg.

Velvet and Oreo hatched on May 11th (I have 6 more chicks that hatched June 20th which I will also be asking about in separate posts so please check those out too!). Ive included various pictures of the chicks with the date the picture was taken on if that helps with identifying them.

My guess is that Velvet is a Rhode Island Red, but Oreo, I have no clue about. Oreo was born with black feathers at the top and a white chest area, but has slowly started to develop an almost barring like pattern on the top and even some cream coloured feathers. He’s also started to develop tail feathers with a blueish or greenish tint under sunlight lately. I'm curious to know what kind of chickens I have in my backyard flock so any help will be appreciated! :)

I think Velevet looks like a golden comet in my opinion, and Oreo seems to look like a barred rock and sexlink mix..? not entirely sure but thats my guess!

Velvet looks to be at least part Rhode Island Red, and Oreo could be a black sexlink/Light Sussex. There are so many breeds it's tough to tell. Both his parents likely had a single comb, and probably neither of them were barred, otherwise he would be.
