Help with humidity?

I am becoming quite frustrated with my incubator.

The humidy in the house is easily 65%, but in the incubator it reads 33% When I try filling cups with water and sticking them in the bator, it makes NO difference.

Any ideas on how to boost the humidity?

Have you calibrated your hygrometer? Sounds like it is not working right.

I haven't used all those solutions, just the one with the table salt.

what kind of hydrometer do you use? I use one from the reptile section at the petsmart and it works great! Maby you should try one of thoes.

I am gonna bet it is the hygrometer out of 4 that I bought one was 10% off 2 was 5% off and one was returned b/c it was way off! Do the salt water test

Well... the test turned out interesting... off by 26%

I would return it and get a new one callibrate before putting it in the bator!

how long was it in the incubator? are the eggs still ok? chances they are...get a new one and watch it closely.

There weren't eggs in the incubator. I was working on it (it is home made) and was trying to stabilize the temps.
