Hubby told me tonight I can't buy the pine shaving for the ducks bedding any more since it takes too long to break down... he says I can use grass clippings etc... We don't have that many grass clippings... what are my other options.. I know hay is bad.. and don't know where to get straw ..
thank you

You should be able to get straw from your local feed store. Would your husband use that? Another option is pellet bedding usually used for horses. I would think the ducks would just eat the grass clippings. Most people use the pine shavings or straw.

How old are the ducks? When mine were babies in the brooder I used puppy pee pads...Then when they moved outside it just the ground rock,sand..They ate the grass..In the duck house is hay..I changed out once a week they dont go in there much...Most the time asleep in the water or just on the ground..
