Help with incubating baby button quail....

I stopped home at lunch, 3 completely hatched, one is pipping actively now and another is about to (chirping actively). That leaves 2 eggs. I will try to candle them :). Thank you :).

I checked the remaining 2 eggs (listened, candled then float tested). All negative. 5 healthy quails hatched out of 7 eggs. I cracked the last 2 eggs carefully. One was infertile. The second, which felt heavier, I slowly cracked at the air sac end. It appeared to have a chick. I was unable to unwrap the chick easily, no blood at all, but it was completely dead. It is perfectly formed. Was he just too weak to pip?

I am a nurse (but not a quail one) - I did a full assessment, like color, breathing, movement and there was, nothing. I just worry I missed something. Any advice would be helpful. I will post pics of the other 5 in a bit. Thank you all for all of your help :). I truly appreciate it :)

I can't say why but it does happen. Poor baby! It hasn't absorbed its yolk so it may have died a day ago and the veins have just dissolved as they do (amazingly quickly too). I doubt there's anything you did wrong or could have done differently. 5 out of 7 is still a very good result. Aren't they just the cutest little things?!

Thank you, I tried so hard. They were shipped eggs from NC I got on ebay. It is my first time with quail. I love them :). Thank you for helping me feel better :)

I now want to hatch more, I love them :). If I were hatch more, say in a few weeks, are you able to integrate quail of different ages?

Help, help, help please. I have read alp the book, had a successful hatch and now lost 3 of my babies. The seem limp and pass away on their bellies, feet stretched out. I have the brooder perfect, i have gamebird crumbles which i finely crushed, water with river rock so they dont drown. I am trying not to handle them. I see them drink. I have mimicked pecking with my finger, wondering if they may not be eating. I am so worried and upswt, I got this far and am such an attentive momma, I am not sure where I am failing....
