Hello all,

This week we purchased 3 Flemish Giants. One buck and two does. All beautiful and big and healthy. When I first contacted the seller I mentioned we were looking for BREEDERS. Now that we have got the rabbits, paid them and go them all set up we are told that they are brother, sister and mother. GREAT!!! now what? Since we are looking for meat rabbits would it still be ok to inbreed that closely. My thoughts are no but need confirmation.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Definitely not the brother to sister. If they are only going to be meat, I've read that son to mother is okay, but I still wouldn't do it. If I were you I would replace the boy with one from a different line.

We decided even if it was "ok" we still didnt want to do it....so we went out and got a new buck....and he is a beauty too....and super friendly BONUS!! Thanks for your reply....love having a place to go to ask others when I have questions :)
