I'm getting so many different breeds for my hen!

Ok Then since it is a bantam, then I think we should rule it a Hatchery quality White Cornish bantam like V-comb said. I know McMurray sells them, some other hatcheries may as well.

The confusion with me was that I was assuming it was large fowl since its hard to tell from the pic and you were saying people were telling you it was a RIW which only comes in large fowl.

So here is were we can rule out the other suggestions.

RIW - like I said they only come in largefowl

Cornish X Rock - Shes not nearly big and bulky enough

Oriental - Which was originally my suggestion when I was thinking it was a largefowl breed, but there are very few if any oriental bantams and
they wouldnt be sold by hatcheries if there were.


So like I said it doesnt have the Bulldog face of the cornish but coming from a hatchery who doesnt not breed them to standards, that would account for that and the bantam thing was also throughing me off of cornish, but since she is a bantam, then most everything else about her looks pretty much like a hatchery quailty Cornish bantam.

So does everyone agree with that now that we know its bantam and we can rule out all the largefowl suggestions ?

Yep, true RIWs only come in LF and rose combs by the standards. And they are not the same breed as RIReds who can come in both Single and Rose combs and BOTH Large fowl and bantam sizes.

So Yes, I would say hatchery white cornish bantam for your hen.

Rhode Island Reds & Rhode Island Whites are two seperate breeds But their size & type are exactly the same. The bird in question here bears no resemblence to a Rhode Island White other than her colour. She appears to be an Oriental of some sort, possibly a hatchery White Cornish many of which are pretty fine boned.
