Help with new babies

i went to feed them tonight and i couldnt figuare out why they were going through food so fast and it was on the bottom of there box. Well i stayed there and watch them for a few seconds and well and behold they were laying down in it and kicking the food and rolling in it? are they trying to bath them selfs or what? how can i stop them from doing it the guineas are the wrost at it. I dont even see how there getting there chubby little butts in the feeder. help please

You need a head only feeder. These allow the bird to get its head and beak only in the feed. Something like these:

Thats whats getting me i have the feeder with the little holes in them there still getting there bodies in it

Perhaps its the wrong size.
There are ones for chicks and ones for adult birds.

do they mark on them which is which?

Good gestion, Ive never noticed! I have them for my chicks and the holes are about the size of a ping-pong ball, certainly no bigger.
