Help with new peacock!!

He's not really active and he's not pooping a lot (probably because he's not eating much). I have seen him eat a little bit but I haven't seen him drink yet. I put his beak in the water yesterday and he didn't do anything. He's not in a huge area, maybe that why he's not walking around more. He was walking around fine when I picked him up at his previous home. I don't think he's used to eating out of food dishes because the food was just put on the ground at his previous home too. But he's big (and strong) so he must have been eating fine. I think I will need to extend the run he's in if I won't be able to let him out for awhile. Our neighbors wouldn't be happy if he was in their yards. We also have a major road less than 1/2 mile from our house. I also thought he would be making some sounds-but he isn't. I have heard him make sort of a honk sound when he saw our cat the other day. Maybe I'm just being overly worried???

I think you peacock is *very* ill. Can you take him to a vet?

-Kathy

I don't have that kind of vet near me. When I was driving him home, he was pooping great!!! Maybe he's stressed out?? He was with a peahen so maybe he's missing her?

I can try and get one. I'm not sure I can extend the ladder in there but I will definitely try. I think I'll go out now with a flash light and see if there is anything yet. I will post tonight if there is. Thanks:)

It's difficult, but since we're in a small space I can. If he were out of the run in the yard I don't think I would be able to catch him. I didn't realize how hard peafowl were to catch until we tried to catch him the other day when I picked him up from the previous owners house! What should I do when I catch him?
