Help With Rats

Maybe you could poor some cement and let your chickens free range all day, and when its time to go to bed....let them in a garage if you have one.

in 7+ years never had a rodent problem(I routinely set victor mouse snap traps and caught 2 last winter) but this spring noticed holes around chick shed so I have Victor rat snap traps(only kind I trust) set with peanut butter over their holes(by shed) and I cover the trap and hole with a milk crate weighed down with heavy block so other critters don't get hurt and have caught 6 young rats this week. don't know how big the parents are but will be persistant with traps. I won't use poison or drowning and it was suggested traps don't work. not true here.

there is a bucket trap with a see saw trigger I have used 5 gallon buckets half full of water for small infestations and 55 gallon drums in barns I don,t know if it was the corn or the grain that brought them there ., but I used peanuts and peanut butter to catch them good luck
