A rooster can be a real bonus for free-rangers. A good one seriously ups their chances for survival against predators.

Thanks. That is what I was also thinking. Worried about him being to aggressive toward nephew and nieces. But only time would tell on that.

There are LOTS of docile breeds out there. Do your homework and do some looking around. Somebody's got to have a fella who started out friendly and has been handled a lot ... you just have to find him!

If you keep a hands-off approach and show him you are boss then he likely won't be as aggressive.
