Help with struggling chick :(

Looks like probably a ruptured air sac. If the chick is breathing OK and it's not getting larger I would leave it alone and it may resolve on it's own. If it's getting larger or the chick is having difficulty breathing you will need to release the air. It is relatively simple to do. Here are a couple of links explaining how. You disinfect the area, use a sterilized sewing needle to prick just through the skin to release the air. A dot of neosporin on the prick.

thanks for all your comments/help but little chick passed away shortly after last post :( As far as I can tell she was positioned wrong. I’m not sure if I could e helped and just feel awful :’( happy for our 4 healthy chicks but still really upset about the little one we lost

I'm very sorry for your loss. :hugs It's very hard to know for sure what is going on with them when they are so small. Some chicks just don't make it, sadly. All you can do is try, which you did. There may have been internal abnormalities that were not visible, it's just very hard to say. Enjoy your healthy babies.
