I have a turkey hen who two months ago took over a chickens nest and hatched a baby chicken. A few weeks after the chick hatched, the turkey found a couple chicken eggs in the coop and once again took over the chickens nest. After sitting for two weeks, the turkey hen saw there was a nest of chicken eggs close to the nest she was sitting on and chose to go sit on that nest instead. She abandoned her nest which had 11 chicken eggs. And the turkey hen has never even laid an egg herself! She just goes broody when she finds the chicken eggs. Now she and the tom turkey have their own pen where she can not get chicken eggs. How long do you think it will be before she lays her own eggs?
