This egg has been in the incubator for 9 days, i don't think its a good one but thought you experts might be able to help. i will also post a couple of different eggs that look really dark at the big end of the egg and takes up 1/2 to 3/4 of the egg. is this normal? they are all at the 9 day period. they are brown eggs so i cannot see anything but big black blobs in there. i have done a lot of research and wish i could see the veins and an eye...but no go.

You can't tell if an egg is fertile unless you break it open and look for the bullseye on the yolk. Though that will definitely cause a lack of development if it was unfertilized.

Doesn't seem to have any development at all, I'd say it's one to toss. As much I've tried, you can't will an egg to start something at the 7-9 day candling mark.

Since it's one to toss, it's a good idea to break it open and check the fertility.

i opened it up and yep, it was just an egg..... so what do you think about the second egg? its probably hard to see but it is all dark on one side. i couldn't see any veins or eyes. but they are brown eggs so probably really hard.

You will be able to see much better when you candle if you hold your light at the large end of the egg so the light enters the air cell first.
Try it on that second egg and I bet you can see a lot more of what's going on in there.

here is another egg i think is no good. can you all help me? i have already found 3 eggs that were...well...just eggs! i only see that black string thing and i think it should be further along at day 9.

Thanks for the advice....i held one up and looked at it with the big side down on the light through the air cell and i got to see it move around inside. WOOHOO.
