We have been putting our ladies, 4 buff Orphingtons out in the coop every day for a week. We have been bringing them in at night. they are 5-6 weeks and really feathered out. We decided to leave them out permanently tonight. They were in the coop raising cain, I went out to reassure them and they were clawing at the chicken wire to get at me. They would not go up into the roost. I put a flashlight up there and moved them in. They are staying there now. I know I am being stupid, but I need reassurance or a kick in the pants to tell be whether we are pushing them? They love being out there and we have been letting them roam the yard with supervision. We are first timers, can you tell?

Just keep doing what you are doing. They will get used to it. And will learn to roost on their own. Just takes so time. You are doing great!
