I picked up two fm kittens recently for the express purpose of hunting down the invading mice...their parents were specialists in that field of endeavor...I hope the expertise ran down hill to the kittens...I had soo many mice last year...and over this summer...I did not kill any snakes as they were moving in and hunting the mice...and now the snakes have back up with the kittens...I am hopeful...great picture of your mouser...very pretty kitty...

Gosh you guys are great Her name is Midnight her story is a cute one. My daughter calls me. (keep in mind I rid our house of 35 cats before we bought chickens.) She says ""I found 2 abandoned kittens, there mother left them they dont even have teeth yet Just milk Teeth. Can I keep them please!!! there from mouser blood please!!??""
I just happened to be brooding at the time, So I told her yes you can bring em home and put them in the big brooder with the chicks outside. BUT.. you must feed and be responsible for winging them. course you parents out there know how kids are. We end up doing it ourselves to make sure they get the proper care and aren't neglected from the fast moving minds of teenage girls.
nnbreeder of byc is a good witness she will run and climb not only your leg. But your whole body to your shoulder. She (who still thinks she is a chicken) at only 2 months will actually guard from your shoulder. The mother was definatly wild and this sweet loving gentle baby girl of a Kitten. Is still bringing this population down very nicely her first mouse was a baby of the mother i trapped and tossed to my buckeyes who love the chase and the end reward. Sadly it came crawling out with closed eyes and she claimed it shes been 100 miles an hour since. Very nice cat cannot wait to see her in action at harvest time when were combining all the surrounding wheat fields and every mouse rat in a 10 mile radius will be running for cover.
