Help!

Hi I've been trying to find a home for these 2 baby chicks that I have they are about 4-5 weeks old. I live in an apartment and haven't had any luck finding a home for them. So I guess I'm going to keep them. I need information on how to raise them what feeding I should give them. Shot?? I almost had a taker but she said since they weren't being feed medical feeding they were useless.

Chickens aren't meant to be solely indoors, please keep working to rehome them, craigslist usually works. You are bound to find someone for them.

Trust me I've been trying! I feel so bad. I just want to know how to keep them healthy or safe Inside while I find a home for them. I don't know anything about chickens. That's why I need help. A daycare might take them for the summer, that would give some time to find them a home.

Not trying to be mean. Assuming you have them in a brooder box, if they seem to be outgrowing it, try to find a much larger box to upgrade too. Adding perches out of scrap wood can help keep them busy. If you supply them with grit, you can give them occasional treats like cucumber.

That's crazy a person wouldn't take them due to not being on medicated feed. Geesh, that's ignorant. All she had to do was start feeding medicated if she felt the need.

They should have a starter feed. With only two and attempting to rehome them just pick up a 5lb bag at your feed store. A starter with 18 to 20% protein is all they need to feed on. You don't need medicated as your in a house and they can't get cocci inside but it wont hurt them if that's what you find in small bags. Food, water and keep their area clean. Easy as it gets.

I'm sorry i just feel like I've been doing my best and I'll keep looking for a home for them because I do want them to have a great roam free life outdoors. But for now I need advice on how to care for them inside while I do that. So thank you so much for your help. Do I also need to give them shots?

No shots needed. Just a poultry crumble feed around 20% protein, medicated or not, and clean water.

Unfortunately that is non medicated feed and since the chicks are 4-5 weeks old they cannot now be started on the shots or switched to medicated feed. I have children and I cannot take the high risk of the diseases. I'm so sorry I would have loved to have the chicks otherwise but without shots or the medicated feed the risk is too high "...... This is a message I recieved from a lady who was going to take the baby chicks?
so I was confused on the food I was giving them. Or if it needed to be medicated. I'm giving them the non gmo non medicated with also lettuce and bok Choy leaves for snacks. Is this bad???
